Here we are – 2021 – and I’m still waiting for Eli to be back in school. *sigh* Part of me guessed the school was going to announce they were remote right after the new year, but it still stung when the announcement came in. 2 more weeks of remote school BUT at least this time we have a teacher who is doing live Google meets 2x a day and lots of hands-on worksheets, instead of just apps to fill the day. Of course, Eli doesn’t quite see my positivity in that and is “exhausted” after his second 30 minute Google meet.

I’m listening to his reading live meet right now and the teacher asked if anyone had any questions. Eli asked, “Did you know chocolate is poisonous for dogs?” Seriously child?!?!? I guess it technically is a question, but we don’t even have a dog…or chocolate right now! Welcome to 2021 🙂

**Edited to add, 5 hours later, Eli’s teacher emailed the class to say her beloved dog died and she would not be on the afternoon Google meet. Eli tells me right away, “Guess she didn’t listen to my question in the morning.” No Eli, her dog died from old age, NOT chocolate! This is the most bizarre coincidence EVER!!!
